ZDaemon Terms of Use/Service

By downloading ZDaemon and connecting to any ZDaemon servers, you agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the ZDaemon management staff. These rules have been established to provide everyone with an enjoyable game playing environment. The ZDaemon staff reserves the right to revise these terms and condition without notice. ZDaemon staff will take whatever steps necessary to enforce these rules. Possible actions against offenders may vary depending on the severity of the offense. These actions include, but are not limited to warning, muting, banning, points adjustment, account suspension or account deletion.

Although ZDaemon is considered to be an adult game, the staff attempts to regulate content which it deems inappropriate. The appropriateness of any content is the sole judgment of the ZDaemon staff.

The ZDaemon staff will make every reasonable attempt to moderate public channels, forums and game servers. However, moderators are not able to monitor everything. To that end, the ZDaemon staff cannot be held responsible for the content of which users are exposed.

ZDaemon resources include, but are not limited to the ZDaemon client, server, launcher, Master, forum, IRC channels, Team Speak server(s), website(s), ZDaemon Discord or any ZDaemon IRC channels. The following activities are strictly forbidden from being discussed or portrayed using any ZDaemon resources.

  • Abuse toward other players:
No player may harass, threaten or intimidate another player. This includes, but is not limited to racial, sexual or ethnic slurs directed at any player.

  • Abuse toward any server:
Any attempt to disrupt, "crash", or in any way interfere with the performance, usability or availability of any ZDaemon server. Flooding, spamming or any other behavior which can adversely affect the performance of the server is not permitted. Color changing scripts, as well as any other automated method of generating excessive network traffic or CPU load is strictly forbidden.

  • Inappropriate use of ZDaemon servers:
Servers may not bear any offensive banner, wad name, MOTD, email address or URL which may in any way offend any ZDaemon player. Racially, sexually or ethnically offensive server names are strictly forbidden.

  • Inappropriate ZDaemon player name, forum name or IRC name:
No player may use a name which, either intentionally or not, offends, threatens or harasses other players who might see that name while browsing for servers, browsing the forums or engaging in chat. Racially, sexually or ethnically offensive player names are strictly forbidden. Obscene or indecent names are not permitted.

  • Inappropriate avatars:
The ZDaemon staff reserves the right to reject or delete any avatar if, in the opinion of any ZDaemon staff member, that avatar is considered to be inappropriate.

  • Cheating:
Any attempt to provide a player with an unfair advantage over another player will be considered cheating. This includes any modification to any ZDaemon file, any wad file or any other method of altering the behavior of ZDaemon other than those available to other players on the same server. This does not include any weapon, feature or style of game play that is available to all players in the game.

  • Impersonating ZDaemon staff members:
No one may claim to be a ZDaemon staff member, or in any way mislead other players into thinking that they in any way represent the ZDaemon project or its staff members. This includes either mimicking the name of any staff member whose name appears on the zdaemon.org website. Player names which are designed with the intention of misrepresenting themselves as ZDaemon staff members are forbidden. ZDaemon staff members do not identify themselves as such when they play ZDaemon. Any player claiming to be involved with the ZDaemon project might possibly be an imposter. For this reason, NEVER give your ZDaemon password or any other personal information to anyone.

  • ZDaemon Servers:
The ZDaemon Master server is the exclusive property of the ZDaemon staff. Any server, client or launcher that connects to it must abide by the rules, principals and expectations of the ZDaemon staff. The ZDaemon servers which connect to the Master are owned and operated by the individuals who have installed the ZDaemon software. Other than the preceding rules, the ZDaemon staff will not dictate the way in which each of these independent servers are used, but the staff reserves the right to block any server from the master list for any violation.

  • Inappropriate discussions in public chat channels, forums or game servers:
Any discussions which pertain to illegal, indecent or obscene subject matters are forbidden. Discussions related to drugs, politics, "warez", illegal file sharing or any unauthorized use of any intellectual property are forbidden. Other topics which, in the opinion of the ZDaemon staff, are likely to cause arguments or other disruptive behavior are also prohibited.

  • Spoofing Server Names:
The use of any server name for the purpose of spoofing a server which is known to belong to someone else is forbidden.

  • Unauthorized use of "clan tags":
Using the clan tag of a clan of which you are not a member is forbidden. Clan leaders have the right to require any player to remove their clan tag as long as the leader of that clan can provide reasonable proof that he/she is the leader of that clan.

  • Challenging any OP, Moderator or Admin:
The decisions of the OPs, Moderators and Administrators are non-negotiable. It is acceptable to privately inquire about the circumstances surrounding their actions. It is not acceptable to publicly challenge, harass, criticize or complain about the actions of any ZDaemon staff member.

  • Supporting Disruption:
Providing any form of assistance, information, passwords or support to any person who in any way intends to disrupt any ZDaemon service is strictly forbidden. Failure to report obvious indications of system disruption will be considered providing support for that purpose.

  • Ban Evasion:
Any attempt to return to game server, chat or any other ZDaemon resource after having been banned, muted or kicked is forbidden. Such evasion will result in further punitive measures.

  • Acceptable Language in #zdplayers:
English is the only language spoken/read/understood by all of the ZDaemon staff. For this reason, it is the preferred language to be used in #zdplayers. If a new user joins and is unable to speak English, we will make a reasonable attempt to find someone to translate for that person. If the user is UNABLE to speak English and would like to speak in his/her native language, they will be asked to move their conversation to a separate channel. If the user is KNOWN to be able to speak English, but refuses to do so, that person will be warned to use English instead. These language restrictions do not apply to game servers.

  • Sharing Accounts and/or Passwords:
Users are strongly advised not to share their passwords with anyone. If you use your account at a friend's house, do NOT save the password. When a user is banned for any reason, ALL known IP addresses for that user name will be banned. We will not accept the excuse that your name was used on someone else's computer. You are responsible for how and where your account is used.

  • Unsolicited Advertising:
ZDaemon resources may not be used for advertising any product or service even if the product or service is free. You are not allowed to send messages or links to software or web pages either publicly or privately which promote, advertise or endorse any product or service.
