IMPORTANT: ZDaemon must not be installed under C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\ otherwise the ZDaemon auto-updates will not work! This is due to Microsoft's UAC design.

IMPORTANT for 64-bit Linux users: to run the Linux server on a 64-bit Linux distribution, the 32-bit compatibility libraries need to be present. Here are the commands to install those libraries for some common 64-bit releases:

• Fedora/CentOS:
        yum install glibc.i686 libstdc++.i686
• Debian (up to 6):
        apt-get install ia32-libs
• Debian (7 and later):
        dpkg --add-architecture i386
        apt-get update
        apt-get install libc6-i386 libstdc++6:i386
• Ubuntu (up to 13.04):
        sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
• Ubuntu (13.10 and later):
        sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
        sudo apt-get update
        sudo apt-get install libc6-i386 libstdc++6:i386
